Excellent video Joe. Thank you. I have railed against having a Smart meter and want to continue in that vein. I have just received an email saying my current electricity meter's verification has expired. They say I must have a Smart meter. Do I have to accept a Smart meter?

As a member of the Tories myself, it really saddens my heart to see how accurate your skits are about us. "Tory Guy" sums up half the people in the local associations let alone CCHQ. As someone that holds genuine conservative values whose family came from Ireland living in deep, deep poverty in the 80s and were able to build something for themselves, afford their own home's during the Thatcher years. This looks to be a UK based video. Brilliant, thanks for it. I note its 5 years old though. My friend in London has been pressured by his elec supplier for years to get a SM which he has always ignored. But now they are saying his old meter has reached then end of its useful life and they only replace them with SMs. (without proof of life expiry / copy of its certificate). This is a well known tactic suppliers are increasingly using now. From much research on the internet I've just done it seems as if he will still be able to hold out against a SM (eg demanding proof of life expiry, citing health effects and his vulnerability or as a last resort that he will get an electrician to fit a new analogue meter). BUT has anyone got a copy of a (reasonably up to date) model letter you can provide we can send his supplier explaining he absolutely still be refusing one and why. You used to be able to get them from Stop Smart Meters UK but this website is now defunct. Can you give me a link applicable to the UK or just provide the text here in the comments. Please don't give a link to social media eg facebook as I don't have an account and can't read their sites without one.

I charge my battery from the grid in the evening during winter then when I start using the power that I already paid for the smart meter spies on my activity internally and creates an additional invoice. Making it that I paid twice for the power and only received one amount of power. When replacing the old meters a specific meter called 'applied control load' used to calculate cheaper power for heating the hot water. My hot water has been heated I believe five times more than what it was previously and I have cut my bill by Third to a half by just turning the hot water on during an hour of solar positive activity in the day, then off. The first thing the corporation company did was invoice me for the power fed to the grid prior to the smart needer being installed. Yes I was shocked by the first bill. However I know now I should have been far more concerned. And that they're refunding me for their stuff up was only a tactic by where thereafter I was forced to pay twice for power. I have videos on it and ACCC in Australia at this point don't seem too concerned.

Australian here, our country too are having Smart Meters rammed down our throats. Besides data mining in Australia Queensland esp. Smart Meters are cutting off during the days of extreme heat on air conditioners, fridges, freezers , NO compensation, even if you have Solar Panels etc, Australian gov't and state gov't have remote controlled access to your address Smart Meters electricity, 'Remote Demand Management Systems' integrated into your Smart Meter. I received a letter NOT asking but stating a Smart Meter will be installed they said because I had asbestos in my meter box, I got an electrician out he said there is nothing wrong with your meter, I then said to the company 'there is nothing wrong with my present meter I do not want one'. Plus they give out small amounts of radiation/energy so it is best placed as far away from living areas
